Why Go To Church?
This started a real controversy in the “Letters to the Editor” column, much to the delight of the editor. It went on for weeks until someone wrote this clincher:
“I’ve been married for 30 years now. In that time my wife has cooked some 32,000 meals. But, for the life of me, I cannot recall the entire menu for a single one of those meals.. But I do know this … They all nourished me and gave me the strength I needed to do my work. If my wife had not given me these meals, I would be physically dead today. Likewise, if I had not gone to church for nourishment, I would be spiritually dead today!” When you are DOWN to nothing…. God is UP to something! Faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible and receives the impossible! Thank God for our physical AND our spiritual nourishment!
All right, now that you’re done reading, send it on! I think everyone should read this! “When Satan is knocking at your door, simply say, “Jesus, could you get that for me?”
Count God Blessings (My Testimony)
20 July, it was a black Monday for me, everything had gone unexpected & unlucky, I was so frustrated, but I still thank God even though I encounter these series of bad circumstances, they came to my life just like few continuous waves. But anyway, just like 1 Thessalonians 5:18: Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (凡事谢恩，因为这是 神在基督耶稣里向你们所定的旨意。) I do not even know what the reason behind all these, but I have faith that for this is God’s will for me in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. (我们晓得万事都互相效力，叫爱 神的人得益处，就是按他旨意被召的人) Well, Abba God, if that is Your plans, then my answer would be same as Mary in the Bible, Luke 1:38 I am the Lord’s servant; let it be to me accomplished on me according to Your words & plans. (马利亚说：“我是主的使女，情愿照你的话成就在我身上。)
Many people may think that I am definitely crazy to praise God during unfortunate circumstances, you may question me that if my God so love you, why don’t He put all those bad circumstances away from my life? Yes, my Abba God is Almighty God, there is no problem for Him to take away all those bad things in my life, but what a children that God want are those who really obedient to Him, Humans’ nature are sinful, & tend to forget about God when all things in our lives are going on smoothly, but God allow something unexpected to happen in our lives, NOT because God love to see us in trouble or to punish us because we forget about Him, But the actual reason is that God love us & give us chances to trust & rely on Him, & to draw ourselves close to God, & enjoy the fellowship & reunion of relationship with God, so if we still praise God during our DIFFUCLT TIMES, God would really cherish our that praise, & He will treat our that praise as precious =)
Please don’t misunderstand that I am not trying to comfort myself by giving all those excuses. Well, you may said me as a loser, okay, I more willing to lose in those circumstances, rather than lose in the relationship with God, because I know that God is my everything, the firmest guarantee for me in this life. I am poor & weak, but God has made me strong. Just take a look on my past (before I became Christian), those past memory really hurt me, but I am so grateful that I am walking in the light of Jesus now, as the Bible states, 2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! I like the hymn ‘Amazing Grace’ very much, the lyric is as follows, ‘Amazing Grace, How sweet the sound, that save a wretch like me, I once was lost, but now I’m found, I was blind but now I see…….’’ Hallelujah, Abba God, how grateful my heart to You, I know that if I don’t know You & don’t invite you into my life to reign over my life, I may already committed suicide to end my life last time, because I had a severe hypochondrium （忧郁症） last time, I had been entangled myself in a mess of negative thinking that depress myself, oh God, is You that broke the chains of depressions in my life, & set me free again. Besides, I know that my life would Never to be the same as last time, because even though God do Not take my troubles away, But I truly experience how God guide me & carry me walk together. I have encountered God face to face, how sweet is that experience =)
Frankly speaking, I still face many troubles in my life, & those troubles sometime are so big until make me headache & panic, but I always remember that my Abba God is even bigger & greater that our troubles. Then you may ask me, why can u still praise God in the tough moments? Well, actually there is nothing to be complained about God because of the bad circumstances that I face. Instead, I should thank God, if there is without God help, then that circumstances maybe become even worse, or I may lose my own life during accident. But God has remained my life after that circumstances, then this reason is good enough for me to praise God, oh Abba God, I hope that is Neither because of accident/disease Nor death that bring me away from this earth at the future (means pass away or die), but I rather wish to leave this world because I have really accomplished Your plans & missions in my life, that are to bless others through our lives & win more souls for Jesus, that are what I really desire, oh Abba God.
Dear friends, do you know that God really love you? John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise (End of the day & Jesus coming back to this earth again), as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
So dear friends, you may face a lot of troubles in your life, such as financial, relationship, studies, career, emotion, etc. You may be in a deep of depression right now, you think that NOBODY truly understand what are you facing right now, but Jesus knows your troubles, God is watching over you, as like what is stated in the Bible, Psalms 8:4What is human, that you think of him? The son of man, that you care for him? Human is like a breath; his days are like a fleeting shadow. Don’t worry, I Jeffrey Hoe, I am not a salesman to promote Jesus to you, but I just wish to introduce to you- Jesus Christ, who change my whole life, & give me peace & joy & hope in my heart, Well, Romans 1:16I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes (我不以福音为耻。这福音本是 神的大能，要救一切相信的) . I am rather prefer to be laughed or mocked by you now (because of sharing gospel with you), instead of let you to be perished in the eternity next time, because I love you all friends very much. Besides, I believe that God is going to change your life too, why don’t you just give a try?
If you read through my this article & your heart feel touched, I kindly invite you, to accept Jesus Christ to come into your life, I am sure that miracle may occur in your life too, just like what has happened in me =) 1 Thessalonians 5:19 Do not put out the Holy Spirit’s fire; (不要销灭圣灵的感动) because your heart are not touched by my article, but are touched by the Holy Spirit right now. Once again, I kindly invite you to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, and just follow the following prayer that may change your own life, “Lord Jesus Christ, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died on the cross & shed His blood for my sins, but then He was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
If you’ve prayed this prayer of salvation with true conviction and heart, you are now a follower of Jesus. This is a fact, whether or not you feel any different. Religious systems may have led you to believe that you should feel something - a warm glow, a tingle, or some other mystical experience. The fact is, you may, or you may not. If you have prayed the prayer of salvation and meant it, you are now a follower of Jesus. The Bible tells us that your eternal salvation is secure! “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
Welcome to the family of God! Luke 15:10In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” (我告诉你们，一个罪人悔改，在 神的使者面前，也是这样为他欢喜). I encourage you now to find a local church where you can be baptized and grow in the knowledge of God through His Word, the Bible.
